This is a first for me.  I am officially a blogger.  My name is Michael.  I am a 34 year old freshman in college.  My English professor has instructed each student to form their own blog.  I am unsure exactly what will be asked of us going forward, but it appears I am here to stay.  Our homework assignment this week was to do some reading in the Little Brown Handbook, create a business letter, and to create our first blog.  I found the reading a little bland obviously, but I did learn some things about forming a thesis and plagiarism.  Class meets again tomorrow night, but its officially time for me to hit the sack.

  1. Michael, yes the readings in handbooks/ textbooks can be bland. Hopefully every assignment won't be though and you will get what you desire out of the class! I look forward to reading your posts this semester.

Try to make your blog unique. Think of hobbies, something about yourself that makes YOU YOU...and make your blog show that aspect of you off :) Be sure to check out (add all) and comment on a couple of other students' blogs before next Wednesday.

  2. Michael I am there with you, never had a blog before or wanted one either. Although bland, there is alot of knowledge and guidlines for us to learn. I hope this class gets us to where we need to be in our writing.

  3. I think it is very interesting how we communicate with the world. Blogs, email, social networks. They are not just for friends and family but also working relationships and business.

    1. Kion, you're right man. Social networks have become a huge part of society and how people get their information. The world is a much smaller place today as a result of the internet and social networking.

  4. Thank you all for interacting and Michael, thank you for updating your profile & sharing your pictures through your Google + account :).

I hate that everything is so crammed due to the "snow day" 2/14/14'. My goal was to get your first essay's final draft graded and given back to you to use along with editing your RD of essay #2 to see what your weaknesses/ strengths were and give feedback.

Urgh...nothing works according to plan it seems. My Thursday night class' research was interrupted after their presentations due to the tornado warnings, as well. Mother Nature is cursing my classes. :/
